39TH ANNIVERSARY OF TAEKWONDO FEDERATION OF INDIA-2015

On completion of 38 glorious years of Taekwondo Federation of India “TFI”, the Taekwondo Federation of India  celebrated the 39^th Anniversary of TFI at Halwasiya Court Lucknow on 22^nd  & 23^rd Aug. 2015.

 The Guest of Honour, Sri K.L. Gupta Retd. DGP was welcome by Sri Sudhir  S. Halwasiya, Treasurer of TFI with a bouquet of flowers, who thereafter inaugurated the function and cut the ceremonial cake on 22^nd Aug. 2015.  Young Taekwondo experts present Taekwondo aerobic  and Gm. Jimmy R. Jagtiani, father of Taekwondo in India gave his blessing to the youngsters. Vice President of TFI Sri Hero Bajpai, announced that the National Taekwondo Championship is proposed to be held in December 2015 in Mumbai.

On 23^rd Aug. 2015, Additional Magistrate Lucknow, Smt. Nidhi Srivastava attended the closing ceremony on 23^rd Aug. 2015 was welcome by Gm. Jimmy R. Jagtiani appreciated the efforts of Gm. Jimmy R. Jagtiani for his dedications of Taekwondo since its  inception. She recalled that she has learned Taekwondo in the year 1990,   and stressed the need for acquiring self defense skills amongst youngsters specially for girls.

Taekwondo was introduced in India in the year 1975 by Grandmaster Jimmy R. Jagtiani. The Taekwondo Federation of India TFI was formed on 2nd Aug. 1976 and established as a National Body of Taekwondo in India.

The 1^st Anniversary of TFI was organized at K.D. Singh Babu Indoor Stadium on 2^nd Aug. 1977,  which was inaugurated by the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea His Excellency Bum Suk Lee and Babu Banarsi Das was the Chief Guest,  Mr. K.D. Singh Babu was the Guest of Honour.
